About South Of Lane

Let me introduce you to South Of Lane Restaurant, a relaxed brunch spot that locals keep recommending when mornings deserve a little extra care. Tucked into Upper Arlington, South Of Lane sits at 1987 Guilford Rd, Upper Arlington, OH 43221, and from the first visit it feels approachable rather than fussy. I like how the vibe leans casual and welcoming, the kind of place where you can wander in for a quick bite or settle in and linger over coffee. The menu balances comfort food favorites with lighter, healthier options, so everyone at the table finds something that fits their mood. Organic dishes show up naturally on the menu, and vegetarian options are treated with the same attention as everything else, which makes choosing easy even for mixed groups. Coffee plays a starring role here, paired with brunch plates that feel familiar yet thoughtfully prepared. Service is flexible too, which matters on busy days, with dine-in seating, outdoor seating when the weather cooperates, and reliable takeaway for mornings on the move. If staying home sounds better, no-contact delivery and standard delivery keep the experience convenient without losing quality. What stands out most about South Of Lane is how effortlessly it fits into daily routines, whether that means a calm weekday breakfast, a quick lunch between errands, or a relaxed weekend brunch with friends. The space encourages conversation, the food feels comforting without being heavy, and the overall experience stays consistent from visit to visit. South Of Lane doesn’t try to be flashy or overcomplicated, and that simplicity is exactly what makes it memorable for anyone looking for a dependable brunch restaurant with personality. It works equally well for solo visits with a laptop, casual meetups, or family-friendly brunch plans, and the atmosphere stays easygoing throughout the day. For anyone searching for South Of Lane as a go-to neighborhood spot, the balance of food, service options, and comfort makes repeat visits feel natural.

A very delicious experience! It's been on the list to try for awhile now and Sunday brunch was perfect for it! Very vegetarian & gluten allergy friendly menu and very chill when we had to take a second to peruse the menu at the counter. We got the elote omelet, the bourbon maple French toast, and a cookie to try and it was all amazing! Also free parking right out front!

I had the most amazing down home breakfast that I've had in a long time. The hash Browns were amazing! Everything Was fresh and down-to-earth that atmosphere was very cozy and laid back. Also the waffle was really yummy!

Nice little cafe tucked into the middle of Upper Arlington. Decent, small menu with fresh ingredients. The coffee is good, and they have a good tea selection. The salads are decent size without being overwhelming. Small patties also available if you just want a small bite with your coffee or tea.

Wow, great cozy place. Small diner kinds with an contemporary ambience. Friendly host and serving. Sweet place. There is outdoor seating too which is closed for winter. Delicious breakfast, SOL bread with eggs is a great one. Their coffee (house blend) is so refreshing. Cinnamon French Toast is an another to order, greatly made.

The food here was truly spectacular. We got the waffle and a burrito, as well as a side of hash browns. I had high hopes and I’m happy to say that taste wise, they were completely met. As other reviews have stated, this is a “Panera” style restaurant: you order at a counter, get a number, go to a drink station, and find a table. This is completely fine, but what felt a little cheap was the actual cups, serving ware, and utensils. Everything was in disposable single-use items: water and coffee cups, plastic silverware, salt and pepper packets… I did expect a little better, and it was difficult to cut things with the provided utensils. From a 2023 sustainability standpoint, this is frustrating. I understand that it makes it easier for the restaurant, and it does seem like they are actively hiring (so may be short a dishwasher), but it makes the experience worse and has a larger negative environmental impact.

Cozy local breakfast restaurant with great food of many choices and wonderful grandparent decor. Families and the elderly gather here to eat and connect. The clientele are super friendly, too. I wish more breakfast restaurants were like this. However, because of their popularity among the locals, your food can take a while. Bring your own flatware if you want to conserve/avoid plastic. Everything is served on throwaway paper which can be composted if not recycled. I had the sweet potato hash. Everything was diced small except the toast. The eggs were browned nicely on the bottom. All tasty and oily as expected, however they use nonstick pans.

Went to South of lane right when it opened on a Sunday morning. I got the Greek omlette with sourdough, my husband got the elote (special) omlette with wheat and French toast to share. They were really busy so the wait was about 20 or so minutes. My toast looked/and tasted like just bread with butter that didn't make it into the toaster but my husbands omlette was amazing and toast was actually toasted. The French toast tasted delicious but almost seemed under done and was falling apart. It was good food and may go back but may will try to hit it when it isn't so busy. Since we were their when it opened there were people ahead of us but we got a table no issue. But it was drizzling so it was full with no extra chairs inside by 8:20
